Real Estate Taxation

When a state legislature knows it’s politically impossible to raise the property tax rate, they often resort to the administrative tactic of raising the appraised value of commercial and residential property. This sleight-of-hand maneuver allows them to rake in additional revenue without being held to a vote for higher taxes. Everybody wins, except you and your fellow Arizona property owners.
